UGCClip is operated from Ontario, Canada. Questions? Email support@ugcclip.app.

This Privacy Policy explains how UGCClip (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use ugcclip.app and our related application and services (the “Service”). UGCClip is operated from Ontario, Canada. We aim to handle personal information in a way consistent with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

1. Information we collect

Account and profile information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password. We do not store your password in plain text.

Billing and payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number. We store a Stripe customer identifier, your subscription and plan status, and your credit balance and credit-ledger history so we can provide and bill the Service.

Content you provide. This includes your prompts and creative direction, product and brand descriptions, personas, competitor references, images and assets you upload, and the outputs generated for you — such as images, videos, captions, voiceovers, and reusable creator/avatar assets.

Usage and technical data. We keep internal logs of generation jobs and activity to operate the Service, troubleshoot, and prevent abuse. We may also collect standard technical data such as IP address, browser/device information, and timestamps.

2. Cookies, analytics, and advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

  • Strictly necessary. To keep you signed in and operate the Service securely (for example, a session cookie). These are always active.
  • Analytics. Where enabled, we use Google Analytics to understand how the Service is used so we can improve it.
  • Advertising and measurement. We use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel and similar technologies to measure the performance of our advertising, understand conversions, build audiences, and show relevant ads (including retargeting) on Meta platforms.

Meta Pixel and Conversions API. In addition to the browser-based Pixel, we use Meta’s server-side Conversions API to measure conversions such as account sign-ups and purchases. For this, we share a hashed (irreversible) version of certain identifiers — such as your email address and an internal user identifier — with Meta so it can match these events to ad interactions. We do not send Meta your password, your raw email in readable form, or the content you create.

Your choices. Depending on your location (for example, in the EU/UK), we will ask for your consent before placing non-essential analytics or advertising cookies and provide controls to manage your choices. You can also manage cookies in your browser settings, adjust your Meta ad preferences, and opt out of interest-based advertising through industry tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance.

3. How we use information

  • To provide, operate, and improve the Service and generate the outputs you request;
  • To process payments, manage subscriptions and credits, and calculate applicable taxes;
  • To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms;
  • To respond to support requests and send service-related communications; and
  • To comply with legal obligations.

4. AI provider processing

To generate outputs, we send your prompts, uploaded assets, and related inputs to third-party AI and media providers that perform the generation and processing (for example, video, image, transcription, and voiceover models). These providers process this data to return outputs to us. Some of these providers operate outside Canada.

5. Cloud storage and hosting

We store your assets and generated outputs using third-party cloud storage and hosting infrastructure in order to operate the Service. Stored files are served to you from this cloud storage.

6. Payment processing

Stripe processes payments and, where applicable, calculates taxes at checkout. Stripe handles your payment details under its own privacy policy and terms. We receive limited billing information from Stripe (such as a customer identifier and subscription status) but not your full payment card details.

7. Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers described in this Policy — including AI/media providers, cloud storage and hosting, Stripe, and our advertising and analytics providers (such as Meta Platforms and Google) — to operate, measure, and improve the Service, and when required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of UGCClip, our users, or others. Data shared with advertising and analytics providers is limited to what is needed for measurement and marketing (including hashed identifiers). If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

8. Email and communications

We may send you communications related to your account and the Service (such as billing and security notices). Where we send promotional or marketing messages, you can opt out using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us; we will still send essential service communications. We send these communications to the email address associated with your account.

9. Data retention

We keep your account information and content for as long as your account is active, so your projects, Library, and generated outputs (images, videos, and voiceovers) stay available to you. These assets are stored on our cloud infrastructure. When you delete a project or output in the app, it is removed from your workspace; the underlying stored file may persist in our cloud storage and backups for a period afterward rather than being erased immediately, and projects you move to Trash are automatically removed after 30 days. You may request permanent deletion of specific content or of your entire account by contacting us (see “Accessing, correcting, and deleting your information” below); we action verified deletion requests within 30 days, except where we must retain certain information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. We retain operational and security logs for up to 12 months.

10. Accessing, correcting, and deleting your information

You can update much of your account information in the app, and you can delete individual generated outputs from your library. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or to close your account, contact us at support@ugcclip.app and we will respond as required by applicable law. Self-serve account deletion and data export are not yet available in the app, so we currently handle these requests manually after verifying your identity, and action verified requests within 30 days.

11. Cross-border processing

We are based in Canada, and some of our service providers (including AI/media providers, cloud storage, Stripe, and our advertising and analytics providers such as Meta and Google) process and store information in other countries, including the United States. Where information is processed outside Canada, it may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions, including lawful access by courts, law enforcement, and government authorities.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including password hashing and secure, HTTP-only session cookies, and we serve the Service over encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We do not claim any specific security certification or compliance standard.

13. Children and minors

The Service is not directed to children. You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction (and at least 18) to use the Service, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

14. Your Canadian privacy rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to and correction of your personal information, withdraw consent (which may limit your ability to use the Service), and ask questions about how we handle your information. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you have concerns we cannot resolve.

15. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.

16. Contact
